Bingo Fundraiser- Thank You

The staff and Board of Management at Connolly N.S. would like to acknowledge your generosity in supporting our recent Bingo Fundraiser at Magowna House on the 13^th of October.

We wish to thank all the businesses who sponsored our Bingo Games and jackpot prize.

Thank you to all who donated spot prizes on the night and to those who gave cash donations.

Thanks to the staff at Magowna House for allowing us to use the facility once again this year.

To the parents and the local community who came out in very large numbers; without your support this would not be a success.

Finally, we acknowledge the huge work done by our bingo committee over the past few weeks.

Eucharistic Adoration

The month of November is quickly approaching and we will be organising 24 Hours Adoration on Tuesday November 7th from 10am to Wednesday 8th November at 10am. This is a special time of prayer in remembrance of the Holy Souls. We will be inviting extra people to be part of this special time of prayer, especially during the night time hours. Please put this date in your diary. More information will be available nearer the date.

Kilmaley MEITHEAL Mass & Walk

This year’s Meitheal walk will be from Kilmaley Graveyard to Lough Burke and back to Carney’s Bar in Connolly on 5th November at 1pm. The day will commence with open air Mass concelebrated by Bishop Fintan, Canon McLaughlin and Fr Pat to commemorate all those who have gone before us. The graves will be blessed at the end of Mass, followed by a parish picnic and the walk. This is a Community Mass celebrating our blessings in life and showing our appreciation to those who have left us. There will be no 11.30am mass in Kilmaley on that day. It is Meitheal’s Annual Fundraising event and letters will be sent to every house in the parish asking for your generous support.

Our Parent & Toddler Group will be on every 2nd Thursday starting on Thursday 5th October in Maria Assumpta Hall beside The Cathedral in Ennis from 10am-11.30am.

Join us for some free play, art & crafts, storytelling, a cup of tea and a chat.

Diocesan Appointments- 2017

Bishop Fintan Monahan, Bishop of Killaloe has made the following appointments in the diocese.

Vicar General

Fr. Des Hillery, PP, Nenagh was appointed Vicar General of the Diocese during the year.

Ballynacally/Lisseycasey

Fr. Joe Hourigan to retire as Parish Priest but continuing to lead the sacramental and pastoral work in the parish. Fr. Albert McDonnell, to take on the administration of the parish and become the Parish Priest in addition to his existing duties.

Retirement

Fr. Martin O’Brien to retire as PP of Tulla and to take extended leave from duty on medical advice.

St. Flannan’s College

Fr. Ignatius McCormack, Adm., Quin appointed Principal of St. Flannan’s College.

Quin

To be covered by Ennis Parish, pro-tem, supported by the Abbey cluster. Fr. Tom O’Gorman as Adm., continuing to live in the Presbytery, Cloughleigh. (Effective from the 1st of September)

Tulla

To be covered by Ennis Parish, pro-tem, supported by the East- Clare cluster. Fr. Brendan Quinlivan as Adm., continuing to live in the Presbytery, Ennis. (Effective from the 1st of August)

Pastoral Development

Fr. Gerard Nash, Diocesan Secretary to be Episcopal Vicar for Pastoral Development.

Communications

Fr. Arnold Rosney, CC, Shannon, who was appointed co-ordinator of the World Meeting of Families for the diocese to continue as curate in Shannon and also to join the diocesan communications team.

The diocese looks forward to continuing the restructuring work of parishes and clusters to best meet the pastoral needs with the resources available.

Thank you to the clergy, religious and lay people who work so diligently to celebrate and live the faith in so many ways in the diocese.
