Ash Wednesday

Maureen Kelly, some members of the DPC, and other collaborators have put together a liturgy for Ash Wednesday.  Parishioners are encouraged to use this liturgy on Ash Wednesday during prayer time at home.

 

It is  available from the diocesan website at:

We regret to announce the death of Fr Christy Burke C.S.Sp.  He died on Saturday (23rd) in Nazareth House where, having moved from Kimmage, he resided since 2020.  He was aged 83.

Born on 26th May 1937 to Mary-Ellen (née Fitzgerald) and Tom Burke of Kilmaley House, Kilmaley, Co. Clare.  Christy attended Kilmaley N.S. and CBS Ennis.

At the recent general meeting of the Irish Bishops, it was agreed that the beginning of the month of November should be marked with a short Service to dedicate the month of November as a month of Prayer and Remembrance for the Dead and for the Comfort of the Bereaved. This Service is to take place on Sunday 1st November

Gatherings above 50 to be allowed in places of worship!

This was announced by the government and reported on RTE News last night. This allows us to increase the numbers attending for Masses from 50. We look forward to welcoming you back!

From Saturday, 4th July the following schedule will apply:

Congratulations are extended to Canon Michael McLaughlin on the Special Occasion of his Diamond Jubilee (60th Anniversary) of his ordination to the Priesthood 11th June 2020.  Canon Michael answered the call of the Lord to be his loyal servant.  May God bless him with many more happy and healthy years of peace and joy.

Sunday, 24th May is the date of the Annual Killaloe diocesan pilgrimage to Knock. This year, because of the Coronavirus attending in person is not possible, but  a warm invitation is extended to join in spiritual communion via Knock Shrine Webcam commencing with devotions  at 2.30pm followed by Mass at 3.00pm
